Jason and I were privileged to be audience members of a special performance by the girls. Kendalyn wrote the song titled "Everybody Out". Her and Kestyn made up a dance to go along with the song. It was very cute!!

Yes, the laying on the floor was part of the routine.

Below is the Song Titled "Everybody Out!" It talks about "Everybody Out of My Heart...except You, because You have the key" Wow, a little mature for a 7 year old I would say. I figured she was plagerizing this but she wrote it herself. I am thinking maybe listening to Miley Cyrus is a little too mature for a 7 year old's soul????

After the performance, Dad grabbed the microphone to give the girls his rendition!! Yikes, not nearly as cute.

Sisterly Love

I am so happy to have three healthy girls. This week marks one year since Kendalyn's 105.4 degree fever that landed her in the hospital three times over three months with a misdiagnosed ruptured appendix. When I reflect on that time I get anxiety thinking about what a sick girl she was and how there are many things in life that just are so "out of our hands". I am so grateful to God for getting us through that rough time. Those were three of the longest months of my life. I cannot imagine having a child with a chronic illness such as cancer. My heart truly goes out to those families. Anyway, it is times like that that you can look back and learn that the little annoying things in life that frustrate us really aren't so bad. When I am at my witts end and want to pull my hair out because my kids are not behaving, I try to take a deep breath and remember that life is really good.

It has been such a joy to have a baby in the house with two older sisters to play with her. Can I still call her a baby??? I really am enjoying this age so much; I would just love to freeze her. Everything is so new and exciting to her. She loves anything in the sky right now. Her face lights up, she points and get so excited making happy joyful noises when she sees planes, birds or even a flag flying. It is so much fun to just watch her explore and learn new things. Her sisters are such great teachers.

Kendalyn is always wanting to experience Kaidyn's "firsts" with her. Here is her first four wheeler ride with Kendalyn. Earlier in the day, she had a ride on Daddy's big fast 4 wheeler. Kaidyn loves to look at books.

On the other hand, the older girls are getting so independent it makes me sad. For the past couple of weeks they come home from school and jump right into "playing school". All they need from me is a snack and they are good to play for hours.

I found some of the cutest papers and had to take a picture of this note that Kendalyn, the teacher, was sending home with her student, Kestyn. Such treasured little moments.

Kendalyn's 7th Birthday Bash

Kendalyn turned 7 on September 19th!! I just cannot believe how fast this time has gone by. She is such a mature little girl with an abundance of creativity and intelligence that surprises me on a daily basis. A few weeks ago as the countdown to her birthday began, she asked me if she could have a sleep over to celebrate. I wasn't quite sure if this was an appropriate age to have one but figured parents could make the decision whether or not it would work. It turned out to be just fine. One girl didn't stay the night and one decided at 2:30am that she needed to go home. Bless her little heart, she just couldn't get to sleep.

The party went great. I took the girls to have their nails painted. We walked into the local pedicure/nail shop which was quiet and playing nice relaxing music. Two ladies were being pampered and as I walked in I kind of bowed my head as the not so soothing sound of 6 little girls followed in behind me. I was sorry to ruin their quiet relaxing moment. The girls were actually very well behaved and tried really hard to not be too loud and get too excited. It really was a perfect idea, they absolutely loved it.

Next we were off to Subway...........Kendalyn's choosing. We came back home and played a Who Knows the Most about Hannah Montana Episodes. It was really fun. The girls tried to go to bed around 1000pm but I think most were up until after midnight.

I awoke to Kendalyn extremely worried that her friend Alexa was "missing". She was the one I took home at 2:30am.

It was a great little party and really surreal to me that I have a 7 year old.

Daddy is Pretty in Pink

Oh, I am going to be in trouble again. Jason had already requested that I remove my first post "operation back hair" because of the flack he had received. Well, I came across these pictures today and I just could not resist. When we were in Sunriver, the girls and I had a great time giving Daddy a pretty pedicure while he was napping on the floor. Kendalyn and I were silently laughing so hard I thought he would have woke up. Kestyn on the other hand didn't think it was as funny. I think she thought it wasn't going to come off. Anyway, he woke to beautiful pink toenails and immediately demanded the nail polish remover. I tried to tell him I didn't have any but he wouldn't accept that answer. It was worth a good laugh!

A Computer Genius!

Since Kaidyn began walking a couple 0f months ago she is constantly trying to push buttons and play with the mouse when I am on the computer. I remembered a computer game we had with the older girls. It was a game that they just had to push buttons on the keyboard randomly to be able to play. We used it so much that we wore it out. I remember throwing it away. So I got online in search of another copy. I found one, hence the pictures below. Kaidyn loves it!! She looks like such a big girl playing it, kind of makes me sad. She also has a nice hairdo going on in these pictures. She pulls out her rubberband all of the time so she is often sporting a nice mohawk.

Kendalyn's Field Trip

Kendalyn's class took a field trip to Sauvie Island for a hike. I let her take the camera so she could snap some pictures. She did a really good job. We have many of friends showing the peace sign. It was a really beautiful and warm day!

Sticky Sucker = Happy Baby

Kaidyn's first sucker, oh did she enjoy it! We brought treats for the soccer game which included suckers. Kaidyn's hands immediately went for the suckers when I opened the bag; I think because of she thought they were balls to play with. I kept them wrapped and she still discovered that they go in your mouth probably from watching the other kids. I broke down and opened one for her. She still was double fisted with one in each hand. She took turns sucking on each the wrapped and unwrapped one. She had a great time all the way home from the soccer game. Not a fun time taking it away, though.

Kestyn's 1st Soccer Game

Kestyn had a great time at her first soccer game today. She scored a goal and went running down the field with both hands in a fist and pumping both arms above her head in the air. I was disappointed to have not gotten that on tape; it was quite funny! This year they changed to the younger kids playing 3 on 3 which was just great. It was so much better than watching 20 kids on the field all on one big mass and the 2 -4 aggressive kids the only ones kicking the ball. Kendalyn didn't have much fun last year so she opted out of playing. After seeing Kestyn's game, she commented she may want to play next year. Today was suppose to be 86 degrees but the game felt like about 45. It was really cold and these morning games are just going to get colder. Oh, summer is over and I am so not ready for those cold and rainy days! :>(

MMM.....A Baker's Birthday. :>)

Okay, guilt overcame me. I just had to do a little something for Kaidyn's 1st birthday that we never truly celebrated. Not that she cared a whole lot but it did make me feel like a bit better mother. I noticed that it was August 31st, exactly a month after her 12 month birthday so could we call it............a baker's birthday??? The girls and I baked her a cake which she enjoyed. I bought her a present so she had a little something to open and play with. We sang happy birthday to her with live music compliments of Kendalyn playing her guitar.

More Cheap Entertainment :>)

This was one determined little girl!!! Kaidyn spent the longest time trying so hard to get a bite of this apple. Her heart was set on the fact that she was going to eat this apple just like her sisters did. But being that she has only three teeth on the bottom, I don't think it was humanly possible. I took so many pictures, I had to make a slide show out of it. Notice that she starts out standing and then figures out it may be awhile so she has a seat. What a test of patience!!

We need a nurse!

I am not much of a nurse when it comes to my kids. Panic sets in a bit. Today I thought I had a baby with a broken nose and a 5 year old with an anaphylactic reaction. I am still thinking we may have a broken nose. Kaidyn fell down (her one of many falls during the day) in the kitchen on the tile floor and did a header into the bar stool's metal leg. She immediately had a black and blue bruise between her eyes. After just a minute or so of crying she just let me hold her while she stared at the t.v. This is what concerned me most since she is one active little girl and doesn't ever sit still! She seemed to snap out of it and I talked myself out of calling the doctor. I figured they would review information on a concussion and tell me they couldn't do anything for a broken nose.

Poor little girl, her first major injury other than falling down the stairs twice. Yes, we purchased a gate but only for the top of the stairs. I guess we figured she wouldn't learn to climb them but the day after we put the gate at the top she was right up there. We have never had such an active child!! We never even used a gate on the stairs with the other two girls and I don't remember Kestyn ever even trying to get into a cupboard. She was content just to sit and play with her toys. Kaidyn on the other hand doesn't even need toys; she enjoys interior decorating by rearranging picture frames and knickknacks way more!!




Kestyn had her first day of cooking class at school today. Here she is displaying her creation of bagels with cooked apples and cheese. I must say it was pretty tasty; not a combination of foods I would choose to put together. Her teacher takes the Kindergarten class to the cafeteria every Thursday for cooking class. Sounds like a nightmare to me, clearly her teacher is a saint. Kestyn absolutely loves it and really seems to think she can make anything now.



After we picked Kestyn up at school, we decided to play outside for a bit. I keep telling the kids there is not much summer left so we should be outside as much as possible. Kestyn was rolling around in the grass and a few minutes later I noticed she kept scratching her legs and arms. It was pretty constant. It took her about 10 minutes to realize she needed to say something because the fingernails just were not cuttin it. She had a bright red rash everywhere except where her clothes were. Jason has always been allergic to grass so I figured she had developed the same allergy. She mentioned that her tongue was itchy so I immediately pulled out the benadryl and hydrocortisone cream. Within an hour; all was well.
